Dongfeng Forthing has officially unveiled its latest all-electric compact SUV in China, the Xinghai X5, targeting the growing compact EV segment.
The Xinghai X5 is powered by a front-mounted single electric motor delivering 163 horsepower and 240 Nm of torque. It comes with a 64.4 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery, enabling a CLTC-rated range of 530 km.
On the exterior, the Xinghai X5 features a closed front grille seamlessly integrated with vertical headlights and slim daytime running lights. Blacked-out door frames and B-pillars, silver chrome accents on the side skirts, and 17-inch alloy wheels enhance its modern and stylish appearance.

Inside, the cabin offers black or orange interior schemes with faux leather seats, while the rear seats support full fold-down functionality. Standard features include a reverse camera, automatic air conditioning, tire pressure monitoring, multiple driving modes, and a 13-inch central control screen for infotainment.

In Nepal, Dongfeng Forthing offers the Friday EV, available in two variants—Luxury and Exclusive—priced at Rs 50.96 Lakh and Rs 56.96 Lakh, respectively. The Friday EV is powered by a 64.4 kWh battery coupled with a 99 kW electric motor, delivering a claimed range of over 400 km.
Blending premium design with everyday practicality, the Friday EV features bold styling, sleek LED lights, and a coupe-like silhouette for a contemporary, upscale appearance. The Exclusive variant adds further luxury with a massage-equipped sports seat, an electric tailgate, and additional high-end touches.
